Entebbe is an excellent pick for a mini weekend getaway with the girls! It is only a few minutes (or hours depending on your route and traffic jam) from the city and a refreshing place to spend hours on the beach, at a café or visiting a friend. I got this timely WhatsApp message from my cousin Tina which made a lot of sense about spending some time with friends.
‘’In an evening class at Stanford University the last lecture was on the mind-body connection – the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends.
Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time” helps us to create more serotonin – a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being. Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities.
We share from our souls with our sisters/mothers, and evidently that is very GOOD for our health. He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym.”
I totally agree that whenever I connect with my friends, I feel comforted in knowing we’re all struggling with different areas in our lives but still grateful to be where we are. We don’t have perfect lives and try to encourage each other to achieve our goals and just plain laugh out loud at each other. We talk about everything and anything…#realtime
Anyway, this weekend, we took some girl-time off whilst surprising Joe for his birthday. I think my friend Patricia knows Entebbe like the back of her hand! We decided to chill at Faze 3 and Rosemary for a bit, before going to dine at 4Points.
We got to relax watching the stunning sunset, with a fresh breeze from the beach. I loved my chicken tikka pizza at 4 points. The mozzarella cheese was so good with on a well done crust.
It was such a perfect way to spend our Saturday. Unexpectedly…I guess that’s always been best thing about Entebbe for as long as I can remember. It tends to be the last minute, affordable plan, when we need to catch up or have fun just-because!
Why do you like driving to Entebbe?
